Our industry has experienced, in recent years, the cost of weak representation. That is why Letscotland formed.
Gradually, but with great success, we are reversing the presumption against letting agents and the private rented sector as a whole, through our calm, determined and authoritative engagement at Holyrood and St Andrew’s House.
We have excellent links, and have regular conversations and meetings, with Scottish Government ministers and civil servants as well as opposition party spokespeople.
Our primary objective until at least May 2016 is to ensure that the proposed legislation covering tenure reform and rent levels works with the letting agent sector rather than working against it.
We cannot change the political weather, but we can ensure that the industry is appropriately clothed.
